Concord Taurus Sectors

I thought a bit about who the Concord might want to defend against, both outside the Taurus Neutrality (though it would hardly be diplomatic, not to mention sufficient, to say "we're assigning two sector fleets to keep the Thuldans from getting ideas") and the most potentially troublesome areas inside, which led me to something along these lines:
Concord Defense Sector -- Historic Sectors Taurus One ---------------------- Pair o' Dice Taurus Two (Fomalhaut) ------ Fomalhaut, Malacca (part) Taurus Three (Chatoyant) ---- Chatoyant Taurus Four (Hankuzi) -------- Okavango, Holstein Taurus Five (Harlequin) ------- Harlequin, Epirus, Cornelius Taurus Six (Aldebaran) -------- Malacca (part), Morning Light Taurus Seven (Wolfshead) --- Wolfshead Taurus Eight (Lucian) ---------- Lucian Taurus Nine (Calvin) ----------- Calvin Taurus Ten (Palmyra) --------- Palmyra |
Due to
another suggestion, I started thinking where the Concord has its major fleet bases. If going anywhere near the political dimension hinted at for
Traveller, I think Concord Taurus is the right location again. No doubt the majority of the answers will be major star systems not even contemplated in canon, but the one mapped location in Concord Taurus, Hale, is very likely one.
Hale is noticeably distant from Sol (similar to StarMech's "ravaged" Delight, which the netbook cleverly places in StarMech One sector located outward of StarMech Two) and closer to the Thuldan than StarMech border. The name is interesting, after Warthen Hale, one of the architects of the Treaty of Concord. That suggests the world has either been renamed, or even resettled, in the Concord era. The Thuldans seem to have deployed something that cleared off a world of high potential for habitation and industry, while leaving it capable of a new settlement only decades later - that sounds biological to me - while the Concord has taken on the resulting environment to the point the planet can provide a major government centre. All rather impressive.
By my maps above, I'd place Hale on the spinward side of Chatoyant Sector rather than (as I also considered) former Fomalhauti space.
