Yeah, treat them the same as Effective Strength, so it is only partially applied.

For example, take throwing an object. The skill check is going to use the character's raw Strength score to determine stuff like accuracy. The boosted Strength score from the limb could be used for determining the range.

I'll be working on the Homebrew Cybernetics area soon. I really want to get the 'Arms & Equipment Guide' cybertech into AB... my players used the heck out of the Endoskeleton and Systemic Reinforcement.

more excellent points.. lol. i keep going back and forth... but i think i like the conclusion that:
Cyberlimbs do NOT increase your overall STR score and, therefore, do NOT increase your Skill Scores. Its slightly more complicated, BUT it's more Rules-As-Written.

hm... that's totally doable in Alternity Beyond.

Makes sense for single cyberlimbs.

I think MusclePlus works more 'whole-body' however... would MusclePlus change the core STR score? Seems like a Mutation, Perk, and Achievement would.

EDIT: but what about the exo-/endo-skeleton caveat? For Good and Amazing cyberlimbs, you're REQUIRED to have one.. which makes sense... otherwise that powerful limb will just rip off your meaty body when you try to use it.

Wouldn't the need for a exoskeleton mean that the STR is more 'evenly' distributed across the body? And therefore WOULD affect your STR more holistically?

(please don't think i'm arguing! lol... i'm just trying to think of all the angles on this issue!)

The career seems to be bonus content, not listed at the start of the chapter. From the top, it might actually be a Diplomat career, with Free Agent also plausible. Skills naturally include Street Smart and then bargain, charm and intimidate, Stealth and Movement (away from the scene), illicit business, weapons (occasionally) and Awareness.

A character who keeps his wits about him might benefit from Law. A character who doesn't has a particularly good chance of entering the Vagabond career from this one.

Cyberlimb bonuses only apply to the limb itself, not the Strength score overall.

So even if you have a character with 4 Amazing cyberlimbs (both arms, both legs), the bonuses would only apply to those arms and actions taken with them.

In this case, I would think that could apply to movement speeds, especially sprinting. It would also apply to trying to break something with the hands or feet.

I would not say it alters the overall Strength score, though, which is where skill scores are generated.
