A new era of urban living is coming to the Newcastle CBD, with
28 Denison Street, Newcastle West receiving approval for development as the city’s first large-scale co-living project. This DA-approved, 11-storey build-to-rent development will introduce a modern, community-focused housing model designed to meet the growing demand for affordable and flexible urban living.
A vision for co-living in Newcastle CBD
The Development Application was led by Kirribili Capital, a specialist social infrastructure developer, with this project set to transform the existing site into a high-quality residential offering. Co-living developments are widely seen as the next evolution of shared urban housing, providing fully-furnished private rooms alongside premium shared amenities that promote social connection, affordability, and sustainability.
With 51 co-living units suitable for young professionals, students, medical staff, teachers, and key workers, the project reflects the shifting preferences in urban city living—offering flexibility, convenience, and a built-in sense of community.
The DA-approved development is being marketed For Sale by an Expressions of Interest campaign led by our National Director, Adam Leacy.
