So I just got done GMing an RPG called PARANOIA for my friends, and they all loved it and had a good time despite how purposefully frustrating the system is (it’s set in a futuristic dystopia like if the Three Stooges wrote 1984) but like
It was kinda exhausting cause it required me as a GM to purposefully punish my players? And as NPCs berate them?? And they got a kick out of it in the end but m a n. I thought it’d be a lot more fun for me fucking around with my players but it’s taxing.
They had fun, and I did too because of the jokes they made, but it wasn’t because of the system or the mechanics.
I dunno. I missed hanging out with them and I’m super happy I got to again, and I wanna hang out with them more and play more games, and hopefully I’ll grow into the PARANOIA GM role. link
