Concerning continuity, in both senses :)So the black hole from a supplement from the previous edition... is not only in the new edition, it's important enough to get its own subheading in the contents (as downloaded from the KS page).
Previously, Paranoia has avoided continuity/metaplot except for the Crash and ReBoot eras of late 2nd ed... and since then,
because of the Crash and ReBoot from late 2nd ed.
It's not like setting details are bad, of course - I still love XP for the sheer weight of words it put into descriptions - the core book,
The Traitor's Manual,
Service! Service! and
Extreme Paranoia are riddled with crunchy information on how Alpha Complex works, and that certainly didn't ruin the setting.
If the events of
Project Infinite Hole are folded into PPE just to reuse fluff that was too good to dump after one year - okay, I get that. I just worry that actual continuity, this happened so now this does - or this can't - doesn't fit the setting.
Is it just me worrying about nothing? Is my line drawn between fluff and backstory just arbitrary?
