Possible R & D ResultsGrenade: Friend Computer asks group to use R&D grenade during mission. Remember Citizens, you can choose whether or not to obey Friend Computer. Remember though, refusing friend computer is treason. Mentioning this to Friend Computer is encouraged, as it shows that you have read the 1.702913e+193 paged manual. Telling others is treason, as it encourages sloppiness & reliability.
Dice Roles:
1: Grenade was actually a toy ball that looked like it was a grenade. (If asked by Friend Computer, it replies that it was a detection & bureaucratic response test, and that they passed. It also tells them that the next test will be soon, and that it cannot tell them what it is beforehand & after it has been conducted)
2: Grenade is actually a tin can.
If this is a first mission, then the tin can hits the forehead of the target, ending them
If this is not, then it bounces off the enemy, who looks undamaged
3: The Grenade hits the enemy, exploding & releasing a green mist. The enemy then becomes stronger.
4: The Grenade hits the enemy, releasing a yellow smoke. The enemy becomes frozen in place, but the yellow smoke remains, so they cannot retrieve the enemy.
5: The Grenade hits the enemy, ending them instantly
6: The Grenade works and kills the enemy. However, it works too well, because it was a miniature-nuclear bomb. It destroys the entire wing of the sector, and the computer notes in the debriefing that the Troubleshooters were supposed to turn off the nuclear switch, however, it does not blame the troubleshooters as it was dealing with a DAIV at the time of giving the debriefing (except for the person who threw the grenade, who is highly admonished because the switch was designed to be felt no matter where you held the grenade). Asking about what a DAIV is admonished by the computer, as it clearly states on the [player clearance level] manual that what a DAIV is is restricted to [clearance level 2 levels above player clearance level]
Laser: Friend Computer asks group to use R&D laser during mission.
Dice Roles:
1: The Laser doesn't work, but they do notice that the top of the laser is pointy, and could probably do some damage. If they throw this, and forget to pick it up again, then the computer will chide them for forgetting to bring back the dud weapon for testing troubleshooter innovative thinking.
2: The Laser makes the enemy turn whatever color the laser beam is
3: The Laser shoots through the enemy, burning a bit of the wall behind the enemy. The Computer Admonishes the player for damaging alpha complex. If the player knows enough alpha complex bureaucracy, then they can exploit a loophole, which gets them off scot free, and the damage is put on the records of another one of the players. If the player accused has studied enough alpha complex bureaucracy, then they can do the same. If all players do this, then it is marked on the enemies record.
4: The Laser hits the enemy, which makes them attack slower.
5: The Laser freezes the enemy in place in a block of ice. However, it doesn't stop there, it bounces off and hits another troubleshooter, which the original player can now choose to unfreeze or kept frozen (Secret Societies entered the chat).
6: The Laser freezes the enemy in a block of ice. A hole opens up in the ceiling, and a crane slowly comes down and picks the frozen enemy off of the ground and out of the corridor. During this time, the other enemies manage to do some damage to the troubleshooters
Enhanced Computer Connectors: Friend Computer asks group to update to new computer connector models, which allows it to directly connect with them in their brain.
Dice Roles:
1: The Computer finds out that you are, in fact, both a member of a secret society & a mutant. The computer orders the others to execute you immediately.
2: The Computer notices that you are feeling very stressed. As such, it immediately reds out your vision, and puts a big computer logo in your vision. Suddenly, you are in a tranquil garden at a table, talking to a massive computer monitor, who tells you all the luxuries and benefits of being an ultraviolet that [player's clearance level] is allowed to know, while drinking calming jasmine tea.
3: The Computer notices you are having underlying anxiety about being a troubleshooter. It plays calming samba music that it has in its data banks in the background, while life goes on.
4: Every single muscle in your body relaxes, and the computer notifies you that it is now testing the new muscle relaxer feature in the new computer connecters.
5: You suddenly become aware of the going ons of a sector far away. You can tell that you are connecting with the computer's subroutines & databanks; the computer is unaware. You can tell the computer during the mission debriefing, which the computer will react aghast, before recomposing & saying that the coder that put that line of code was executed. Doing so will result in the player being promoted the next day, and with the computer favoring that player throughout the campaign. Keeping the information secret allows you to be a mole for the secret society, rising the ranks of the secret society.
6: You suddenly become aware of the minutiae of combat, allowing you to become more accurate & damaging.
At the end of the mission, you can decide if the computer wants to keep the connectors or discard them.
