Finding feral cattle that shed their hide or even pre-designed clothing isn't that odd in some parts of the world.
Some evil libraries hide in plain sight, hiding their dark knowledge as markings on the walls or shelves rather than in the books.
A popular form of magical research involves alchemical cooking. The flavors are undescribable and inspirational.
Spells that can be cast only in the round after something happens to the caster:
- Stinging Retort is cast in response to taking damage from arrows, bolts, darts, thrown spears, etc. and inflicts four times the damage taken.
- Airy Escape allows a drowning caster to teleport straight up to the surface and protect them from the bends in needed. It only works underwater, a different spell is needed for lava and other liquids.
- Aging Lash works only when the caster is freed from stasis, usually Time Stop. The target is the person or critter that induced the stasis and ages them 1d4 age categories.
- Stellar Conversion* only works when the caster has been struck by an alien ray gun. It converts some of the energy into charges for magical items held currently by the caster. How many items and how many charges are up to the GM.
