Locations of Gamma Terra
Locations of Gamma Terra posted in Gamma World forum comment posted by derek_holland After looking at some rocks (ala the previous post) I came up with these:
- A river is being diverted to erode and destroy a mountain. It isn't natural and in fact is hollow, the prison that was used for alien criminals from across the galaxy.
- A mountain with alcohol ice on its peak and streams of alcohol flowing to its base. Lightning causes flares and the occasional wildfire.
- Ponds and streams of fruit juice created by mutant (and immobile) plants. These are the life source of candy people and creatures. They try to spread the seeds of these plants as far as they will survive. Or, the juice is created by food factories and the candy people are stuck to surviving near these places.
- Massive piles of soft sacks, waste from military factories in the Shadow Age. Some of them are famous because of what the sacks do- mimic faces, have what appear to be floating blades, give visions of icy wastes, react to moods with color and music. These sacks are safe as long as they remain sealed...
- Tamed lava pits, lesser versions of Magmatap and used for energy rather than mining elements. They can appear anywhere on land and the bottom of the oceans.
- Frankenstein islands are those that were shattered and have been conglomerated and held together by technology. They can look very strange, esp if their component islands had very different natures.
- Tumbled is what appears to be a massive building, but one that is crumbling more in some parts. It is actually all the structures of one city that were clumped together, possibly to allow a force screen defense to have a smaller footprint. Now it is easy to move between the buildings (and other infrastructure) as people and critters have broken through walls throughout the whole complex. That is why some of the weaker buildings are much less safe to explore.
- A living road that is an upside down garden. In other words, what appears to be the blacktop is actually a mass of roots (these collect surface debris the plants feed on). Too much weight will kill the plants but the gardeners will replant soon thereafter. People use the road extensively as it remains unbroken and a major highway between two major cities (of the Gamma Age, not ruins.)
It is good advice. Thanks da Vinci!
