New Cryptic Alliances
New Cryptic Alliances posted in Gamma World forum comment posted by derek_holland As per Orc's suggestion of using Dark*Matter as a precursor setting for GW, here are a handful of illuminati as Cryptic Alliances.
First I want to note that there are some that are obvious- the CDC became the White Hand, the Invisible College became the Brotherhood of Thought, The Final Church became the Red Death, the CXS became the Archivists, FEMA became the Peace Brigade, etc.
As for actual new ones:
- The Rosicrucians continue to try to spread knowledge but also work to drive off aliens from Gamma Terra. The latter may seem ironic as the majority of the people in it are PSH, but that simply shows that the Invaders thought they had won the war and work towards keeping it for themselves.
- The Hoffman Institute continues to study dark matter in hopes of gaining control over it, and thus mutations and superscience.
- The NRO became the Recordkeepers. They try to record important events for future historians.
- The Secret Service protect those they consider worthy and hunt the machines they consider responsible for the Final Wars.
- Even though the EPA is not listed in D*M, I think it would also make a good CA. They work on habitat restoration, effectively creating oases in the wastelands. A splinter invents new mutagens in hopes to increase species diversity and thus foodweb resilience in places that are mostly bereft of life.
