In this setting, nature reclaims any structure three times as fast, even in the driest deserts. Forests are especially bad for handheld tech as trees either bury them in their roots or grow their wood around them, keeping the devices from use as long as the trees live (and subsequently rot).
- Ghostbusters (the original film). I waffled about this but then I realized that such a setting wouldn't be that different from the standard Gamma Terra. Ghost may be hostile, but they aren't that dangerous for the most part*. People could learn to live with all the ghosts that were captured by the Ancients and freed during the Cataclysm, not to mention all those created when civilization fell. And as a bonus, the players can design ghosts of their dead heroes.
