Ancient Artifacts
Ancient Artifacts posted in Gamma World forum comment posted by derek_holland An application of nanotech not mentioned in 6e is skill enhancement. Obviously it wouldn't work for all of them but for those it does apply, it is the difference between a stone axe and a water knife.
I would not use this to increase skill bonuses much, rather create new uses for the skills.

Gravity lenses refract gravitons, allowing for attraction to other surfaces within contained locations. Using them without a specialized force screen is a good way to be ripped into many little pieces as gravity pulls the character in two directions.

A similar issue applies to hyper magnetic zones. They can work without the screens but all that is going to do is draw all ferrous objects and materials (including red blood cells) in range.
Within the screen there could be all kinds of weird life, evolved from bacteria that never used metals.
