Aqueducts used to reroute ley lines are magical but need to be resealed annually with alchemical concoctions. If this is not done, the framework will erode and a disaster will strike as the magic returns to its original line. The land, sky and sea between where the line was and where it was rerouted is affected by whatever the line's theme is with a permanent duration. This can be undone with magic, but that is a long process for small areas and multigenerational for large ones.
