A guild of artificers learned of the value of nature and put effort into defending it. Their solution was inventing machines that fuse with flora and fauna, giving them better defenses against foes and weather.
Glowing metals are used to make the more valuable coins in a handful of nations. Their size determines the strength of the glow, so color and intensity shows their value at a distance. (What other supernatural materials could be used to make coinage?)
In the tropics there are plants that are highly mobile, but only when they scent booze. Trying to keep the shrub from drinking out of your mug can be difficult, esp when attacking the plant results in a much more violent reaction.

There is a drought in one steampunk land for half of its rain are small gears. They float to the ground and are used by most to maintain or upgrade their gear. The wealthy have longer lasting gears made by smiths.
Law and Chaos are one side effect of a war in a higher dimension. If there is temporary peace, Chaos reigns in the mortal world. If the conflict flares, Law dominates. Attempts to cross into that dimension and manipulate those entities is a bad idea as they respond with disasters, if not outright extermination.
