High Weirdness on Gamma Terra
High Weirdness on Gamma Terra posted in Gamma World forum comment posted by derek_holland Every ship on one sea has tanks instead of cannons. These hold a variety of sea life that can be trained, mostly for scouting, retrieval, and combat. What makes it very weird is the most common forms of sea life used:
- Torpedo sharks are not fish. They are weasel cyborgs that have little hair and hunger for lumber (having a defect that forces them to eat it). Their name comes from the prop grafts they use for speed.
- Zipperzappers are smart salt crystals that use electropotential of the water to move and electrocute their prey. Each ZZ is about 12 kilos in mass.
- Rotters look dead, act mostly dead, and have a horrendous odor. Few scavengers want them and predators flee. Rotters are mutant humans that can survive crushing depths with other mutations and provide an effective defense against pirates as well as looting sunken treasures.
- Reefs are chunks of coral with large tentacles they use to swim and grapple. They are dumped in the water and sent at enemy ships and creatures via bait- a form of fertilizer that is hard to manufacture on the water. The danger of using them is drawing many forms of sea life that find coral reefs the perfect place to live.
