About 40 tykes, including one little stinker, a girl who got her candy and then reached in the bowl to grab more.

Best costumes were a trio of young teen lady pirates. They really did some amazing work on those.

I am happy I didn't put the candelabra out on the small table I was using for lighting in the driveway because two of the kids almost knocked it over. That would have been not fun near the grill. And the low lighting worked- I got a few "your creepy" comments and a couple kids that looked like deer in headlights. What is the point of enjoying Halloween with a little scare?

Simple division of prices, making some sensible decisions for contents and allowing for the difference between wholesale and retail, might give some guesses.

For instance (and not necessarily advancing these numbers as reasonable), if a cargo unit of Computers contains, half and half, Ordinary computer gauntlets and data 3Ds with packages of Ordinary software worth, say, $500-1000 and markup for retail is 50%, that might come to about 80 computer gauntlets and 300-odd software 3Ds. If, instead, buying and selling Ordinary PL 7 supercomputers, a cargo unit is one computer (and a PL 6 model takes four times as much cargo capacity). Again, this doesn't consider mass or have any source for volume at all.

A couple of complexities (maybe just that I might have made different and perhaps also reasonable assumptions):

At least two years have elapsed without contact. The operation might have been going for a decade or more - if it was only five years, that's more than one a month, which seems like a lot. I might use 2d4.

For example, following a certain speculation, the Solars have been in stasis only recently, but Travis' date is most interesting. Possibly it relates to a recent reminder about an item of equipment, as it happens. On further thought, the whole situation requires something similar and there's another possibility for the character. The heroes' first investigation might lead them into some complexities.

The scenario doesn't state many requirements.

Why not Argos? The system is not on the Verge Trade Spine and is rimward of Aegis (above). I can stop after I have ten examples.

No doubt there's a chance that related characters have the same surname (high for dependents, low for others, unlikely if they're of different species).

Could be very useful in Dark Matter as well.

The large surface locations turn ethereal for a few minutes every so often to allow things from the Chthonic Lands to escape into space.

Some fantastic buildings have walls of solid fog and statues with solid auras to keep the roof up.

There are aberrations with monstrosity hosts. These creatures are semi-incorporeal, adding actions and powers to the their vessels. If one dies, so does the other and it is unknown how the aberrations spread their numbers.

Tortoises dominate the lower Chthonic Lands.

One steampunk invention for storing images and light in general uses super strong magnets.

The Sun is usually docile but if enraged, has been known to slice up creatures with death rays.

Ravens have been known to hide caches in people's shadows.

Phase spider webs can be altered to create portals to other worlds on the same plane, a new form of Gate. In some cases the spiders have been hired to create specific configurations, making the process faster and much cheaper.

The oldest house mimics take the form of pyramids.

Asteroid spirits wait for the day when someone claims their home. Some prefer to be incorporated into life while others metal implements.

There are intelligent, burrowing serpents that steal valuables and fence them for memories from non-serpents. They want to experience something, but what they are saying.

There is a city that has unique fruit trees. If the fruit is taken out of the city, it becomes toxic. If a cutting or whole tree is removed, it combusts.

If they're tourists, I know how far away their families or other contacts are. The same table seems as if it might work with modifiers .. but higher values seem possibly interesting. It might be better to build several tables that shift the distribution, though there might be limited scope. Simpler might be better, especially if (since) I'll be rolling repeatedly.

Allegiance intersects that, but there are probably some complex possibilities. As a simplifying assumption, I'm already rolling for allegiance of a person found in (or near) the location, so the distribution of allegiance has been covered and doesn't alter the character's place of residence.
