She hid a small chest of very valuable potions and oils somewhere in it. Every sunset, the mound reconfigures itself, the boulders teleporting into new positions. Anyone that was digging into the mound is likely crushed when that happens.
In a far away land there are people with spouts in their heads. They are used to pour potions of memories. The people use these as proof of some historical event, though it is obviously from their own perspective.
Food spirits are common in the Chthonic Lands. They turn rock into a variety of foodstuffs for those foraging in the wild areas.
Gargoyles are rarely found in the Chthonic Lands as they tend to turn into columns or are absorbed into walls. True elementals ignore this effect and in fact can drag gargoyles and similar creatures out of the walls/columns.
Part of the Chthonic Lands are the Underworld. The two sections are divided by the River Styx. One of the best ways to permanently deal with undead is to throw them in the river.
An alchemist who has been working for a long time tend to have furniture, floors, equipment, etc. that has been partially transmuted. They keep what still works, such as a chronometer that now has a moondial that works at all hours (in addition to the gears, hands and face), and recycle or toss the rest.
