Fantastic Stuff
Fantastic Stuff posted in Fantasy and Progress Level 3 forum comment posted by derek_holland I didn't mean they would become coral-shapes so much as a mass of soulstuff that draws more spirits of like temperament. The latter souls fit the theme of the fish and other critters that live on a reef.
Projected Image can allow for smaller and larger images. This allows very tiny or very huge people to communicate with humans.
Have a new source for designing creatures and decided to test it out with little dungeon dwellers:
- A school of fish that telekinetically take their water along. They consume dust and rust, cleaning the tunnels and caverns they visit. The fish can even move along walls and ceilings, or at least get their water to. There is one thousand gallons per fish. That means for every fish killed, that water is suddenly freed to flow. The poor fishies lost their lateral lines, stripping them of most of their senses. The only dangers they can detect are by sight and by smell of the blood of one of their school mates.
- Bats with iron feet. Good at smashing prey, not so for elegant flight. They use magnetic ores in cavern roofs to roost.
- Giant woodlice with many eyes that can see light, heat, magic, and death. They are scavengers that prefer enchanted wood but will eat flesh and bone if it is available.
- Fish that leave the water when food is scarce. They transform into very large cockroaches that feed on the fungi found near water. A few weeks or months later, they return to the water. I am not sure if you want to know what they eat in the water.
- Large beetles that consume constructs by draining their magic. The insects are invisible to constructs, found in small groups, and go into hibernation when very hungry.
- A small cat that preys on arthropods, esp giant crayfish. They glow like candles and if need be, can detonate themselves to create a bust of sunlight. This is fatal to the cats and usually permanently blinds most dungeon dwellers (undead are burned).
- A bird with a human face. The specific visage is the last face the mother saw before laying that egg. The bird has d4 memories from the face source and can be questioned about them. Oddly, its blood acts as a healing potion, but only for the character whose face it duplicates.
