Most of these creatures are using illusions to cover themselves, making it impossible for would be predators or prey to determine their actual threat level.

The breath of some mutants is so humid that large species leave soggy and moldy trails behind. Fungivores follow in their wake, feeding on the abundant molds and mushrooms.

A species of cliff-dwelling swallow still digs into cliffs but protects its nests with pungi stick and frame deterrents. The large predators with thick enough hide to ignore the pungi sticks find the birds have another trick- the wood or bamboo used to make the frames is also an ultramagnet that is attracted to flesh. The more the frames are broken, the more mass is stuck to the predator. Some have even suffocated under tons of wood.
People have been known to harvest the wood using robots or androids and use them as traps for their own communities. There is also the possibility of using it as a fish trap or for rodent or other pest removal.
