The Green Robin is a bird that collects raindrops to form spheres of water that float in mid air. Air breathers find the water unusually dense and avoid the nest and young within. A few people have found ways of taming the birds and using them to create the spheres all the time, usually for aquaculture or aquariums.
The radiation of the Chthonic Lands is some form of invisible light. The anti-sun suits used by illithids and vampires protect surface dwellers exploring the deeps.
Location curses that affect coins and gems:
- One animates them, sending the wealth down tiny tunnels into waiting hoards.
- The second turns them into sprouting seeds or spores. The plants/fungi show signs of what they emerged from (so rubies result in reddish plants and silver coins in shiny mushrooms).
- The third turns them into food of equal value. Hungry things then appear and consume the food, only attacking if prevented from feeding.
