The strongest emotional reactions are artificial and created as potions by machines crafted by the gods. Some people that suffer ennui will pay anything for those potions.
A few artifacts create mazes to hide in if they aren't moved for a month or year. These mazes may be three dimensional or even extra-dimensional.
Fiends that specialize in possession are lead by archfiends that possess diseases, curses and corrupted spells.
The Upper Sky is a desert as it is above the clouds. Desert critters abound on the floating islands up there.
What is the origin of the verbal component for spell casting? Latin in worlds where Rome never existed? The primordial tongue of dragons? A hallucination induced in all casters by the god of magic?
