Gamma Age technology Gamma Age technology posted in Gamma World forum comment posted by derek_holland More ideas for formulae applied to materials:
- The first allows light to pass through an object but only in one direction. Gates and other security doors are the most popular application.
- The second causes the material to shatter violently when exposed to thermal stress. This is used in mining and defense.
- The third causes treated objects to deform into spikes, effectively caltrops, when exposed to a specific sound.
- The fourth alters objects so that they draw toxins from water and mud. Used both to clean and to create toxic ammo.
- The fifth turns objects into filters, usually for water, that are easy to clean. Those wanting to collect salt or silt can make large filters fairly cheaply.
- The sixth emits a shriek when vital signs fall or fail. The object has to be in contact with the patient.
- The seventh is a treatment for metal. It becomes stronger in contact with water or other liquid. This reduces maintenance for pipes and aqueducts.
- The eighth is a treatment for metal or stone. If blood comes into contact with the material, the creature's face appears. If it is a mirrored surface, this is an image. If it is not, the face appears as a relief.
- The ninth alters objects so that they appear to be alive when scanned by biosensors. The Created favor this one for their spies, though some use it against them to seemingly increase their militias.
- The tenth acts as a secondary musical instrument. Play one and it reacts accordingly. Have several and one person can sound like a band or even orchestra.
