| Bioprinters could be handy for some cyborgs. At PL 6 they produce dead tissue that is easily preserved. This is used for food, disguises, even weird art. At PL 7 the tissue can be alive even if it made from non-living raw materials. Printing pets, humans, aliens, etc. becomes possible though it takes time with anything larger than a few kilos. At PL 8 printing cyborgs becomes possible and maybe mindwalkers, depending on how they fit in the GM's setting. |
I would recommend altering that to some extent.
PL6 printing dead tissue isn't a problem, but printing living tissue up to fully living complex creatures is a bit too powerful for PL7. This is especially true since there aren't any specified limits on what can be printed, allowing for entirely new species with all sorts of capabilities that aren't found in nature (and that doesn't have to include FX or Mindwalking abilities).
What may be better is that living tissue can be printed at PL7, but with limits (so you can print some organs, but not all of them, especially neural tissue). This would allow it to print cyborgs at PL7, but this isn't true cloning, as the living creature's biology is supplemented with cybernetics to allow it to survive.
At PL8, printing living creatures without cybernetics should become possible, including creating entirely new biological species.
