There is a type of zombie that spreads its own flesh where commanded. This is used to lure scavengers, esp ghasts. The flesh regrows if the zombie heals (wait, how do animated dead heal? Or golems for that matter? Rest shouldn't repair and replace lost parts for them.)
Flameskulls can be used to melt through dungeon walls and floors, though they need to be trained to make effective stairs.
A kraken has invaded land in a mobile castle made of water. It has control over weather and so can always replace all the water lost to evaporation (likely due to fire spells). It simply positions the castle over a target and takes what it wants before moving on.
