The species of dragon determines the biome, so black dragons create swamps and green temperate forests. There are dragons willing to sacrifice themselves for this as the druids promise those new lands to the dragons' offspring.
Elemental ablative armor is used by some magical beasts as protection and camoflauge. They need to perform rituals to conjure more elemental energy to repair their damaged armor.
