They create wires and circuits easily with their xylem and batteries that wrap around their roots with the organic acids that result from decaying matter. Seeing a weed waving its new organic diode light just for fun can be humorous or horrific depending on how much contact the heroes have had with green folk.

I wanted a really strange defensive mutation and came up with this.
A parasite mutation that turns its host's flesh into active buzzsaws upon contact with air, a bright coloration, and a strong desire to live in the crowns of tall trees or the upper floors of skyscrapers.
Obviously they aren't popular with hunters as these parasites can infest just about anything and turn meat processing into a horror flick.
