- Rusting roads are path of corrosion that destroy specific materials, usually metals other than duralloy. The effect is not contagious, fortunately for those who lose gear and vehicles to them.
- Boulder fields have no trees and few other plants and are typically several dozen meters deep. There is abundant space for tiny, climbing critters that are either photosynthetic or hunt the skies. Water is the limiting factor for life as most of it drains away.
- There are buildings that rock back and forth and possibly slowly spin as well. Sometimes this is due to balance and other times it is like a metronome, anti-earthquake tech that now does the rocking.
- Partially fossilized buildings and other ruined structures. The process may be ongoing and hazardous, turning more inorganic objects into fossils. The replacement material is usually mineral but could be anything the GM wants.
- Translucent walls that allow only bright light or specific colors. It was used for advertisement and entertainment.
- A prison where the worst went. All are in stasis as governments kicked the can in what do do with them. If freed, some could be survivors while the rest wouldn't tolerate the technology and privation of the Gamma Age.
