Things missing from Body Tanks
Things missing from Body Tanks posted in Equipment, Cybertech and Weapons forum comment posted by Orc Hi all,
Has anyone mentioned body tanks that join or merge with a larger vehicle? Something like the Cyclone (I think that's what they were called) motorcycle mecha in the third Robotech series. The motorcycle is just a motorcycle with an exotic power source without the suit / armor / body tank, but with it, and some appropriate training for the user the combo becomes a lethal and extremely agile presence on the battle field.
Some bigger vehicles might be fun. Joining up with a hover-tank, with missile batteries and particle guns and clusters of lasers (the reason why traditional artillery is not used is left up to the reader to discover). The close integration made possible by the joining process makes the body tank's user more lethal and dangerous than either the body tank or hover tank, or the both of them as separate units on the battle field.
Other options for vehicles to integrate with? Tracked tanks, artillery vehicles, AAA vehicles, robotic mounts of various kinds (ride a dragon, a unicorn, a kraken, a unstubborn mule), Earth moving vehicle, civilian taxi-cab modified for those 'extra-speedy' deliveries).
Are there mentions in any of the rule books of 'specialist' body tanks. I'm thinking battle field engineering body tank (designed for getting rid of obstacles and for creating them, slow and large but packing a tremendous amount of power), Medical Evac unit (strong enough to pick up a crippled body tank and well armoured enough to carry it off the battle field without further harm), Recon / Stealth body tank (many more sensors including drones , active camoflauge technology, bio-mimicry, but lightly armed and armored).
anyway,
take out there. It's a dangerous world.
Regards
Orc
