For the sort of rant I'm writing, the players need some earlier connections and as I've mentioned once or twice, I should avoid the temptation to be subtle about it. It should be easy enough to establish that several of the rippers and crazies they met had been in contact, or fought, with
somebody.
Could they agree with her? It's not out of the question. More likely, they can have a Picard speech in response if they like, then it's on.
I should have a good set of building blocks already for a lot of this, with one sizable piece of work that will help for some other purposes.
