A potion variant- uses expose the bottle to X form of light and then bathe in altered rays. The more recipients, the weaker the effect for each individual.

I was thinking basic buffs and healing, but this can be used for a wide array of magical effects. The recipient doesn't even have to be alive or a creature. A potion that emits rays that transmute wood into steel for example.

Just what to call these potions- any suggestions?

It sounds much like a mystical version of a suncatcher, so my first inclination is to start there.

Given that we've written around a dozen threads on the problems with the stardrive, junking it for anything else is definitely the way to go. In fact, just look to see if one of the other FTL drives already do what you want and just call that a stardrive if you're wedded to the term.

So I went to the family cemeteries this weekend to lay flowers on about a ton and a half of stones. And after the wind storms we've had of late, I had to do a bit of hiking to get to things. Additionally, "Greenwood" is gonna have to consider a name change, because they've lost about 20% of their trees.

NASA working on a lunar lander that creates its own landing pad while landing.

Certainly an interesting approach to a definite problem (planetary and asteroid excursion suits will need to function as armour) and suggests other modifications of appropriate types of engines for diverse purposes.
