Alien Artifacts
Alien Artifacts (Examples, Concepts, Q&A) posted in Equipment, Cybertech and Weapons forum comment posted by derek_holland Variable Size is a new drawback for artifacts. At the Slight level, they shift sizes whenever the user rolls a Critical Failure. At the Moderate level, the variation in volume and mass increases. At the Extreme level, the user likewise changes size, though randomly from the artifact (i.e. there is a small chance that they make the same change). In all cases this lasts for 1d4 hours.
Slight- changes are twofold from the baseline. Roll a d4 to determine the resulting size.
Moderate- changes are threefold from the baseline. Roll a d6 to determine the resulting size.
Extreme- changes are fourfold from the baseline. Roll 2d8 to determine the resulting size of the artifact and user.
It would be a good idea for the GM to determine the volume and mass of all the possible sizes before allowing the artifact in play.
