a Light Ships Slip of 200 Hull Points |
A Full Small Craft Slip might then take up 60 Hull Points and so on.

Small Craft (perhaps divided further) |
As above and perhaps a
Space Fighter Construction Bay, which might apply some advantages to safe handling of weapons and other high-energy components.

Construction times for larger vessels (and equivalently for space stations and ground installations) might become an
issue and the
GMG/Starships rules arguably don't cover them. As a starting point I could try rolling in some numbers from starport statistics:
- A Light Vehicle Repair Bay or Vehicle Repair Bay can construct vehicles and sub-assemblies up to its size in Hull Points. It takes twice as long to install (for now) starship grade systems. (For avoidance of doubt, building a starship hull counts as installing a starship-grade system.) Further delays may apply at mini-ports (Type 4) due to unavailable parts that must be sourced elsewhere.
- A Space Fighter Construction Bay can do the same, but for complete small craft (not sub-assemblies) takes no time penalty.
- A Small Craft Yard (60 Hull Points) can construct ships and sub-assemblies up to 60 Hull Points at the listed rates.
- A Light Ships Yard (200 Hull Points) can construct ships and sub-assemblies between 30 and 200 Hull Points in half the time listed in the GMG. If using only part of the yard for smaller jobs, construction proceeds at the GMG listed rate.
- A Medium Ships Yard (600 Hull Points) can construct ships and sub-assemblies between 150 and 600 Hull Points in one-third the time listed in the GMG. If using only part of the yard for smaller jobs, construction proceeds at the GMG listed rate.
- A Heavy Ships Yard (2000 Hull Points) can construct ships and sub-assemblies between 300 and 2000 Hull Points in one-quarter the time listed in the GMG. If using only part of the yard for smaller jobs, construction proceeds at the GMG listed rate.
- A port equipped with sufficiently sized construction cradles and work vehicles can construct ships over 1000 Hull Points in one-quarter the time listed in the GMG, or smaller work at the GMG listed rate.
- Advanced techniques may reduce the time further. I've started to suggest some for yacht building, but might not have posted them up.
